So, the other day, I heard this story that had me both laughing and thinking:

A guy pulls up to a Taco Bell drive-thru, hands over a $50 bill, and watches as the cashier confidently marks it to check if it’s real. She looks at the line, shakes her head, and says, “Sorry, this is counterfeit.”

Confused, he hands her another $50. Same routine, same result.

At this point, he’s baffled. “Both of my $50s are fake?” he asks. Then it hits him.

“Ma’am,” he says, “are you using a Sharpie?”

She pauses, takes a long look at the marker, and replies, “Yes, sir. I am.”

It’s funny, right? But also kind of profound. It’s a reminder of how often we put so much effort into doing things “right,” only to realize we’re not using the right tools.
